Got a second-hand Behringer Xenyx 1222FX mixer!

Just got a second-hand Behringer Xenyx 1222FX mixer which is a rare model nowadays and on their site this model is being discontinued to be manufactured or related to that. It cost for about $214.29 but got a discount from the seller for $202.38 (where exchange rate is $1:PhP42) which bought last November 8, 2010, thats a big savings, its market price ranges from $240-$360 a $37.62 discount.

First impression, Built-in Effects – Check, Equalizer (High, Mid, Low) – Check, Graphic Equalizer – Check, 6 Microphone Inputs (XLR and PL/TS input/female plugs) – Check, Trim knob – Check, Low Cut – Check, Input-Output RCA female plugs for CD/Tape – Check, Headphone female plug – Check, FBQ Feedback Detection – Check, Voice Canceler – Check, Mute buttons – Check, Slider Potentiometer faders – Check (easy to use than the rotary faders and I am familiarized with it), thats all the necessary I need for now when times comes by and requires more inputs then thats the time for an upgrade but hoping to have budget on that.

When first testing and the seller is on site we have difficulties because the seller (because he is a buy and sell audio/sound system gadgets and he also operates one) only knows to plug here and there, and does not know the true usage of the Xenyx 1222FX mixer. We therefore test it by the Headphone input plug and test all inputs of the mixer and its working well. Also told me to buy an amplifier for the mixer, what the hell was that, why did I buy the mixer in the first place if he will only tell me to buy an amplifier if I had a component with 1200W PMPO which will be used for the meantime, I had no intention of entering professional sound system where their equipments are at large scales, just for personal and home use and maybe use it for small parties that needs small sound system. Then told me to assemble an XLR to RCA cable which cost for $4.29 for 4 meter cable (4m microphone cable, because I only need two wires, 2m each channel), $1.67 for 1 pair Canon plug also known as the XLR plug and $2.14 1 pair of gold plated RCA plugs (black for left channel, red for right channel) with the total of $8.10 for the XLR to RCA cable. For plugging of audio gadgets/players with stereo RCA cables there are converter for RCA to PL/TS plug with no cable needed for the converter you will only need an RCA cable for the audio gadgets/players then plug the converter on the end of the RCA cable then connect the tip of the converter on the extra Left and Right inputs then use the EQs to mix the sound of the music being played the converter costs for about $1.67 (5pcs. RCA to PL/TS plug on one pack).

Then next day, November 9, 2010 physically tested it with the XLR to RCA cable that I made then connected on the Main Output which is XLR male input and using the RCA to PL/TS plugs converter on my audio gadgets/players. Testing quite go well, actually laughing of what the seller made when I bought it but maybe thats the only thing he knows only on sound system business and not on professional sound system business its just what I see on his current status no intentions of making of fun of what happened, because you should know everything when it comes to professional audio equipments. Equalizer is a plus when using players and microphones for mixing sounds, Built-in Effects is a great feature we even make fun of our music while using it and Slider Faders is a best feature because I am only used with sliders than the rotary ones. Everything is working as it should and can be used on small parties and those who needs to speak-out or amplify their voices.
